I did this while subbing a World History class last week. I had left it on the teachers desk while I greeted the students crawling in to class. One of them started to look at the cup really suspiciously. I told him, "you can grab it, no problem." He and a few others start to examine it with such a critical eye, I felt like I was trying to get it past a museum curator. Then they turn to me and say, "You did this miss?" I said yeah and they said, "you should be an art teacher". I chuckled and said "Maybe".

Herculean Feats of Doodles

Haven't written in here in a while. Time for an update (as if anyone is even paying attention). I am working on a massive project. Bought a roll of brown mail packing paper from the 99 cent store. Planning on doodling the heck out of it without cutting it up. Just one HUG stream of doodles. I'll post pics of what I got so far asap.

My latest project. I've been testing out different knitting patterns. This one is called Jumbo Cable. It's pattern is simple but you need patience. It goes like this:

26 stitches. First 5 and Last 5 make border.

RW 1,5,7,9,11,13,15: Knit
RW 2 (and all even number rows): Knit first 5, Purl, knit last 5
RW 3: Knit first 5, transfer 8 st to cable needle in the front, knit next 8 st, place st back on reg needle from cable needle and knit 8 st , knit last 5
RW 16: Purl

Repeat all Rows til desired length.

In case you have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about here is a good tutorial I found on YouTube.

It's a lot of work but so beautiful.

2010 Goals

I have set up what I call the "1-2-3 for 2010" plan. It goes like this:

1- I have to Draw one of my monsters a day.

2-I have to Sew two monsters a week (minimum).

3-I have to Sell three monsters (or anything else really) a month.

Will I succeed? I do not know but I will give it all I got.

I had just got back to work from lunch and after hearing a NPR store about the swine flu vaccine, I decided to doodle something down to pass the time. It's my opinion that if you're healthy, with no tendencies of getting the flu or other serious illnesses, then why take the swine flue shot? If you're a young kid or adult with chronic flu or other illnesses then run and get it! BUT if you are NOT, then why expose yourself to an unnecessary illness. I'm not putting anyone down who wants to or has already got the shot (or nasal spray ) but it's not for me!

So I finally learned to ride a bike. It was harder than I thought, but I did it. And i feel so accomplished. Bike riding was one of the things I wanted to do before I am thirty. Next up.....Spain.

A Bathroom Pet-Peeve

So I was in the bathroom in deep thought (because that is really the best time to think) when someone comes in and uses the stall right next to me, even though EVERY single stall around me is empty. WHY? WHY do some women choose to get so close in the restroom? Does no one understand the rules of public bathroom etiquette? You have to give some space. There should be a plaque on the bathroom, right next to the "employees must wash their hands sign", that says "Please be kind, leave a bathroom stall in between" . And while we are at it, lets add another sign that says "Couteous Flushes Are Acceptable"......Just had to get it off my chest.

My Yellow Man

He's made of yellow cotton fabric. He has felt lips, eyebrows and big black buttons for eyes. I stuffed him with this old cotton striped shirt so he looks extremely vieny....sort of on steroids. He has a very cocky, smug look to him. Don't know were the inspiration came from, maybe I was in a yellow cocky mood!
